The car’s bodywork, assembled by Scaglietti, consists of a steel shell with aluminum doors and lids mounted over a steel-tube chassis with a fiberglass inner tub.
Chassis no. 16683 retains its original 4.4-liter Colombo V12 engine, mated to a matching-number gearbox, and is equipped with six dual-barrel Weber 40DCN 21/A carburetors. With 352 horsepower and 315 lb-ft of torque, this V12 powerhouse propels the Daytona from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.4 seconds, with a top speed of 174 mph—figures that set the benchmark for supercars of its era.
